Kona Cotton is one of my favorite fabrics for many things including clothes...not just made for quilts but has a good hand, weight and drapability as well. My first go to is the Robert Kaufman organic but unfortunately hard to find locally. When checking Robert Kaufamans site I found this:While not organic, Robert Kaufman's signature Kona® Cotton Solids brand is the only quilting solid to come with the assurance of Oeko-tex certification, which certifies that no harmful chemicals were used in the production, processing or finishing of these goods.
this keeps the price down a few dollars per yard avoiding the Swiss certification....
this ought to be fun....the IPCA "tests" out small independent pattern companies to make sure they are well drafted. Even some of the larger pattern companies make errors. When I was learning pattern drafting we tested out some of the major pattern companies and I found out why sometimes something just does not work out right even with commercial patterns. Some Sewers get discouraged thinking it is "them" when if fact it can be the pattern and how it was "drafted". This company tests out independent pattern companies so you can use with confidence.
